We live at a farm close to Oslo. Knut runs the farm since 1977, and Astrid is a veterinarian since 1979. She is dr.scient (PhD) in obstetrics. Since 1996 she has been employed by the Norwegian Kennel Club, the last years as veterinary scientific director. She has written books and articles both for veterinarians and breeders, and has been lecturing both national and international ( Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Italy, England, Iceland, Greece, France, Czech Republic), mainly on topics of obstetrics (birth), paediatrics (puppies), healthy dog breeding and hereditary diseases.

Since 2005 she is a judge ( Newfoundland and Bernese Mountain Dog, Great Swiss Mountain dog, Enltebucher Cattle Dog, Appendeller Cattle Dog, St.Bernards, Leonbergers and Pyrenean Mountain Dogs). At present she has been invited to judge on speciality shows in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Italy
